Funding Request Form 24-25

Important considerations before filing a STUDENT SENATE FUNDING Request

  1. Alumni funds are reserved for student organizations, interest groups and individuals for conference expenses and is therefore the first point of contact in terms of funds.

  2. Senate funding is the last resort for any funding request. Please explore the following options prior to coming to the student senate for a funding request:

    • If you are currently working under a research mentor, their specific department may have travel funds set aside for trainees. This is a good place to start

    • The Office of Medical Student Research Programs has travel awards that students may apply for. Please find out more at this link: https://medstudentresearch.med.wayne.edu/travel

    • The Office of Medical Education may also have some additional resources. Please find out more at this link: https://www.med.wayne.edu/medical-education

  3. Student Senate may fund organization/individuals who are denied alumni funds with the exception of students who have previously benefited from Alumni or Senate funds.

  4. The amount given per student for one conference is up to the discretion of the Student Senate however, historically the range has been from $250-$350.

  5. If you are seeking funding for more than one conference that you paid to register to you may receive funding for each conference you attended. In this case please list each conference and the cost breakdown in one form or submit one form for each conference.
